Crusin’ Cape Town

Today we have tickets for the gondola that goes to the top of Table Mountain, the highest viewpoint of Cape Town. Not going to happen. Winds today are recorded at “gale force” so the gondola is not running. Now what?

Hop-on Hop-off!!! Yep, resorted to our old favorite mode of transportation and sightseeing, the Hop-on Hop-off bus. Dropped about $15 each and rode off to see the sights of Cape Town and the surrounding area. Lots of beautiful beaches, white sand, clean, big, but no one in the water. Sharks, maybe? Nope, ice cold water. The Atlantic current that reaches the east side of the Cape Town area is around 52F, no swimming unless you’re a seal or wearing a wet suit.

Movin ahead so life don’t pass me by….

Tomorrow, we join our G Adventures tour group for a couple of days in Cape Town touring, then we fly to Johannesburg, spend the night, then trek to Kruger National Park for our first afternoon safari. Pics to follow. Until then, enjoy Cape Town…
